JaredV got it right. 6mm is the BB diameter and the weight will vary: 0.12g, 0.15g, 0.2g, 0.23g, 0.25g, 0.28g, 0.30g, up to 0.35g.
Remember that heavier BB's will be more accurate, but will fly slower. Kind of a trade off: Slower/More Accurate and Faster/Less Accurate.
The lighter BB's are used mostly in Spring Pistols and Entry Level Electrics. Heavier BB's are used in Sniper models and high end AEG's. 0.2g is the most common weight used in AEG's and Gas guns. Best to start with the recommended weight for your gun and experiment until you find what works best for you.
