I see a lot of slobs in my town (Southeast US) wearing a BDU blouse or old (don't remember what they were called) Army coats with Marine insignias on the shoulders or Coast Guard insignias on the shoulders. Why are they wearing these clothes as they obviously have no military background? Is it supposed to be gangsta or something? Who is selling this stuff? Just curious as I see it often, and I think it's kind of a disgrace for some of these people to wear these clothes.
Ah, military clothing goes in and out of fashion like everything else, I suppose. When I was growing up in the 70's and 80's, the cool thing to do at the time was to wear camouflage pants. Rambo- First Blood was the big movie at that time and it influenced the way some kids were dressing on the streets. My grandpa always hated it when he saw people wearing it on the street because he actually fought in World War II and did some heavy fighting in the Pacific islands. He hated war and anything that reminded him of war; and that included military clothing.
