Help upgrading my 1943 Mosin-Nagant M91/30?
*PLEASE READ THE WHOLE QUESTION, and I'm not asking for opinions about the Mosin-Nagant or what guns you think are better*
I have one "decomissioned" 1943 Mosin-Nagant and decided to buy a new one. I'm restocking the new one with an ATI black stock, scope mount and a "far eye relief" Tasco 3-9x32 scope, along with some other small stuff (bipod, sling and some stripper clips). I also bought a "Vivitar Terra View" 18-36x50 Spotting Scope for the range, which I think will be sufficient since I don't plan on shooting past 200 yards. At least not yet.
NOW THE QUESTION: Are there any other things I'm overlooking that I could be doing to improve the performance of my the new Nagant to increase it's performance? I've heard of frictionless triggers, but I've also heard that unless you're having trigger issues, they're a waste of $35.
Any advice???
Actually the new trigger will help your accuracy a little, the old military rifles have a harder trigger pull, the new replacement is usually a cheaper way to get a trigger job done to it. And I would suggest saving up for a better scope, that tasco isn't going to do too well for you in the long run, it will probably be fine for the first year, but after that it might become a wasted money item.
