Battery Grip or sigma 18-200 lens?
i have a canon 400d (with kit 18-55 lens) with an extra 55-200 lens and am thinking about buying an accessory for it,
i find it very annoying having to find a place to put my stuff down somewhere so i can change lens, wich rarely is practical and sometimes end up missing shots because of the time consuming proccess,
but on the other hand i only have the battery which the camera came with, and find myself having to miss a day because i have no battery. plus i like the lok and feel of a battery grip, it makes me feel more proffessional as the 400d body is quite very small for a DSLR,
what do you think i should get?
I personally don't like the battery grips.. but my camera is a little chunkier than the 400D. How about just buying an extra rechargeable battery? I have 6 of those. I am never without one that is fully loaded! I have a canon 28-200 I think that is the length, anyway. I only use it on vacations because it covers just about everything I need (wish it was wider) for my memories. If I am on a serious shoot, I won't use it, I will fall back to the primes and the higher quality lenses in my arsenal. I will take quality over convenience any day. I have owned 2 sigma lenses in my life, didn't like either of them. But I know plenty of people that are perfectly happy with theirs so it could be just me. Personally I would buy another battery, but if the grip makes you feel better, then go for that, it is after all, your camera and money.
