Cleaning Barrel Swab
My gun is UBER dirty help is it normal?

i recently bought a old type 38 used in WW2 there is a giant build up of black tar kind of stuff right at the back of the barrel where the bullets go in and there is some in the barrel i have been cleaning it for about 15 minutes and every time the swab comes out pitch black should i keep cleaning or what?
Update:Thanks everyone i finally got it all cleaned out took like an entire day went and shot it today and DANG! it kicks haha thanks!

That is Cosmoline, a thick grease used to preserve metal. You need to remove it before you shoot. Mineral spirits works great.
