Comfort Ccw Gun

Comfort Ccw Gun
What handgun is for me?

My collection will soon either include a Ruger MKIII Bull barrel, Ruger KP345PR, Buckmark, or some relatively cheap 1911.

The .22 pistols aren't as fun IMHO, but they have a good place in a mid-volume shooters collection. I have tried several MKII and MKIIIs, they just don't get me as excited as the centerfires.

I have always liked the Ruger KP345, good price, comfort, comes with safeties, has a decocker, low recoil, accurate, strong frame, but I think .45 is kinda expensive. I also like the KP345 because it is easy for CCW, and it has that DA/SA trigger which is big plus for me in home defense or CCW. If it came in 9mm, then I'd be all over it. I also have a 1911 made by RIA, love the design and low recoil, but mine is in .38super. So I might sell it (ammo is way harder to find for .38sueper than even .380) to fund this new gun. I was thinking if I am able to find a good RIA or Springfield GI for sub 500$, that would be in consideration.

you can alwasy get a 9mm conversion barrel for your .45 auto pistols. They aren't cheap, and can have some reliability issues that need to be worked out, but shooting 9mm is so much cheaper it will pay out in the end.

I know it is pretty easy to do this in Glocks. i don't really know about 1911's or Rugers.

i wish i had a .22lr pistol in my collection, if only to teach my fiancee. The cost of ammo is always a deciding factor for me. but if you don't want to shoot it, you don't want to shoot it.

you can't really go wrong with the Ruger, but there must be some other guns that would fit your needs and be 9mm.

ps, if you are a serious shooter, you might try and think about reloading. the start up costs are kind of expensive, but you can load many guns for something like 10-12 cents per round.

if your looking at CCW, Kahr makes an (expensive), quality handgun KM9. I have some Beretta's. A 92FS and a bobcat. The 92 is really too big and the bobcat is too small for me. I'd be interested in the Couger though. mine is a glock 19 in a com-tac IWB holster. IMHO that is one of the best holsters out there.

good luck. be safe.
