I've got two rifles in my trunk and a piece in the glove box, but I also want to carry a holstered pistol when out on the town. I don't know the best holster to carry for a S & W .41 magnum? I've already got a conceal carry rig but that is too uncomfortable so a waist holster is what I'm looking for.
I should clarify--I'm not looking for a concealed holster, I already have one. I want an open carry holster.
Almost anyone who carries a pistol concealed on a regular basis has a drawer full of holsters. And they normally don't like any of them very much, just some they like more than others.
Strong side hip holsters tend to be dominate however. IWB, (Inside the Waist Band) holsters make concealing the pistol easier but they are not quite as comfortable as some other holsters and they normally require that you buy your pants with the waist a big bigger than normal. Other belt holster can require stronger, thicker belts to keep the gun from sagging. I prefer a holster that rides high on the hip but my torso is not all that long so I can't go too high or drawing gets to be difficult.
I've worn a paddle holster a bit and I found that I like a lot of things about them and they are comfortable , easy to take on and off and most do a good job holding he pistol close to your body. Yet you will have to have a substantial covering garment to conceal a pistol of any size.
