I live in a rural area and recently the crime rate has gone up. So I bought a glock26 semi 9mm pistol.
I have a very large piece of property and I have practiced and practiced. I can usually hit a milk jug from 25 yards consistently. I recently went to a shooting range and preformed quite well. However the men there laughed and told me my choice of gun for home defense is useless. They told me I need a 1911 .45 or a .357 magnum at the least. My pistol has a 17 round clip and I use Gold-dot 9mm hollow point p+ ammo. Do you think this gun is an effective defense gun? Would an intruder be stunned by a shot from it? Or is as the guys at the range right: It is little more than a toy?
Well, I suppose the best answer is how dead do you want the bad guy.
A 9mm+p hollow point will cause serious damage to an intruder no matter where you him them.
