What's the correct, legal ,admirable way to get gun laws changed?
I recently took the CCW class and was amazed at the laws that govern gun ownership and to me it seems as though the laws are made to protect the criminal. Here are some examples : In NC ( where i live ) it is legal to use deadly force to stop someone from entering my house but if they cross the threshold i have the "duty to retreat" meaning once they enter my house i can no longer legally use deadly force. Get this one; my instructor also told us that if someone enters your home without forced entry ( door was unlocked or something ) and goes to your refrigerator and makes a sandwich, sits and watches tv and then leaves without saying a word to you that i the homeowner better not put a finger on them. The most they can be charged with is unlawful entry and trespassing but i will still have to prove that they did it. Is that not some BS?
I love Oklahoma's Stand Your Ground law. Not only can I use deadly force in my own home, but I can use it anywhere in the state that I have a legal right to be.
