When is the best time of year to start tanning?
I am really pale, and this year my biggest summer goal is to get a killer tan. I'm not going to do spray tans or go to tanning beds, but I am going to just lay in the sun...and use some tanning lotion I have. I live on the mid-east coast (not quite north, but not quite south) and I want to know when will be the best time so begin tanning so i don't stick out like a sore thumb

As long as it is sunny, you wont stick out. People who really care will ask how you got your tan too and you can just say "i've been outside a lot". I know because i tan all the time in a bed and people always ask where i went on vacation (though they probably just ask because WA state has no sun until July). When i lived in Las Vegas nobody asked about tans because it was always sunny there.
I would say start tanning as soon as it is warm enough to lay outside!
