What is the difference between base kit, barrel kit, and inserts?
I was looking for a barrel kit for my paintball gun and stumbled upon an EVIL pipe base kit for tippmanns. They are six inches and have 5 or so bore sizes. What else do I need to buy with it or how does it work? Can I just use my existing barrel?
they are all basically the same thing. they are all 2-3 piece barrels but here are the differences
Base kits are barrel backs (part that screws into your marker) they come in different sizes to accommodate different paintballs. Paintballs a supposed to be .689 but the can run smaller or larger.with a base kit you will have to buy a barrel that is made for that system. Yours will not work.
A barrel kit is the same as a base kit but comes with a barrel Tip
Inserts are a little different instead of having multiple backs you have a bunch of inserts that slide into the barrel back as with the base kit depending on what insert system you buy you may or may not have to buy a barrel tip
If you look up a Freak barrel kit you can see what it looks like
