Good Places In NYC.?
I am looking for some original tours, tv show tapings, activities to do for young married couple on 2nd anniversary (I've been to NYC but it will be the 1st time for my husband) and some other adult family members(from NY). We love food too? Any good home cookin', Chinese, Italian, French restraunts etc. Where are the best places to dine, shop, see, explore, and just hang out? Also, I was wondering if there were any factories you can tour that make neat stuff. And what is the name of the Largest toy store there? Adresses would be nice if you know them, if not okay.
Wow! One could write volumes in response to all these questions, but rest assured, you've come to the right place.
Your excitement is perfectly understandable. You've been to NY and are excited to show it to your husband. Let me see if I can help. I will provide links to most everything I suggest.
Tours:
There is a fee tour of Grand Central Terminal given by Justin Ferate. He is the leading tour guide in New York City. In fact the city commisioned him to write the tests that all "would-be" tour guides must take in order to attain that position. Justin also gives tours of other sites in New York, many free or at low cost.

Also, I'm not sure if you are baseball fans or not, but either way, a tour of Yankee Stadium is a must. And since this is the last year for the Stadium, now is the time to do it.

As far as dining, well, the possibilites are endless. For Chinese, Wo Hop on 17 Mott St. is a NY institution. Make sure when you enter you go down the stairs instead of up. Wo Hop is open 24 hours, and the food is good and very reasonlably priced. Ruby Foo's is a New York chain. It's an unpscale noodle shop. It can get pricey, but it's very good.
There are more Italian restaurants in New York than you can count, but a couple of my favorites are Otto and Trattoria Dopo Teatro. Otto is on 8th St and Fifth Ave and is owned by TV chef Mario Battali. It's known for it's wine list and fresh food including pizza. Trattoria Dopo Teatro can be found in the theatre district and specializes in delicious Italian cooking in an authentic setting. The French restaurant I always fall back on is Balthazar. It's a Bistro in Soho and is very popular. The food is good and the atmosphere is fun. Reserve in advance to secure a table. For a much more upscale (and expensive) experience, try Le Bernadin on w. 51st. It's the epitome of fine dining and will cost you plenty.

Places to just hang out would include Downtown Brooklyn, Greenwich Village, and the East Village among many others. It's fun to walk around these neighborhoods and just get lost in it's many side streets admiring the architecture and/or street life in general.
The two largest toy stores would be FAO Schwarz at 59th St and Fifth Ave and Toys R Us which can be found in the heart of Times Square.
One fun factory tour that you can take is the factory of the Brooklyn Brewery. If you and your husband are beer drinkers, or even if you aren't, you should have fun on this tour.

A really cool area to shop would be 125th St between Fifth Ave and Fredrick Douglass Blvd. Lots of stores to pop in and out of, many that boast the hottest names in "hip-hop" fashion. This part of Harlem also features restaurants that offer home cookin' or "soul food'.
Hope some of this info helps. Have a great stay here in New York.
