This question is not intended to starta debate about best caliber or manufacturer. I am simply wanting to hear your thoughts about which handgun will serve me the best. I like compact pistols with a black finish, and it must be a .40 caliber. I have held the following pistols, and they all seem to fit my hand right: Glock 23, Beretta PX4 Storm, Sig Sauer P226. I will be using the pistol as a carry weapon during hunts, for concealment for self defense, home protection, and target shooting. Obviously I want something trustworthy- that will not fail me when I need it. All thoughts are greatly appreciated.
Telling you what kind of gun to buy is like telling you what kind of woman to marry they all do different things for different people. All three of the guns you listed are quality reliable firearms when maintained. I personally prefer glock they function well in many adverse conditions with little to no maintenance. However I would bet that any of the guns you listed would give an average shooter a lifetime of no problems if well maintained. My advice is find a range that rents firearms and try all three see what you shoot best and what feels good in your hands when shooting which is a world different than holding it in a store. P.S. - Just a piece of advice for home defense try a shotgun 1. Low cost compared to a handgun. 2. Causes an instant massive wound when shot at close range like in a house. 3. Decreased likelihood of going through walls (Your family asleep in the next room will thank you) 4. Easy to aim and operate under stress 5. Pucker factor of the sound of a shotgun round chambering is enough to make your average thug run. Just something to think about.
