I'm looking to buy a machete, the blade must be 440 steel, single edged, and serrated with a nylon cord grip, full tang and have a nylon sheath, I have alot of brush in my back yard I wish to clear and I'm fed up with the 3 dollar machete's I can get at the mall. my point being, I know what I want, just don't know where to look, I looked online for about an hour and a half looking for these details in a machete and ended up with nothing. basically I'm looking for a machete that can double as a saw. I do not want a normal machete with the serrated back end of the blade.
You may want to rethink your requirements for a machete if the brush you have is woody. A serrated machete blade will not work as a saw on woody plants. If you will look closely at any saw you will see that the set of the teeth is a bit wider than the width of the blade. That is to allow room in the kerf for the blade. If you try to cut wood with a serrated blade it will quickly bind up as the wider part of the blade gets into the narrow kerf. Serrated blades only work in materials such as herbaceous plants that will give enough to let the blade pass through.
