2)from whom do i get the sickle from? do i have to upgrade my hammer to get into the brownie ranch? if so, how many levels?
3) where is chase during the day? i cant seem to find him.
4)what are these rainbow objects? whereabouts do i find them?
I know there's alot, but i can't find these things :) thanks for any help!

1) There is a medium-sized dog in the meadow in Brownie Ranch area, and a large dog on Toucan Island. After you make your first rainbow, the storms at sea will supposedly clear up, and Pascal from On the Hook can sail you to the island whenever you want.

2) You get the Sickle from a guy named Cain, who - yes - lives in Brownie Ranch. You COULD try to upgrade your hammer to skill level 3 to break the rock and get in... or you could just wait until the last day of spring, when the area will open up automatically because of a festival that is scheduled to occur there.

3) I tend to see him quite often in the Town Square - and his actual house is in the Maple Lake District, so you might want to check there. If you need to know where he is at any time, you can stalk -- *cough* excuse, me, "TRACK" people by pressing A on their name in your game menu where it shows you their heart levels. (It's quite entertaining, actually, to do it to random people even if you don't care where they are, heh-heh.) When you set a person on "track" mode, their picture and location will appear at the bottom left corner of the screen all day long, updating in real-time as they travel around the town. When you're in the same district, it even points an arrow to show you what direction they're in relative to you. So stalkerish and yet so cool.

4) Rainbows are, literally, rainbows, that represented the life of the town, which has now disappeared. You'll need to recreate these rainbows by collecting ingredients for recipes that you get from the Harvest Sprites. These Sprites are disguised as the flowers beneath those special trees throughout the town... It's the start of a whole big important plot story - you'll find out more about it later on in the game, but before you can start watering Sprites and collecting recipes, you'll have to get the Mayor and other people to inform you about it all. There's a helpful walkthrough in the FAQ listed below.
