Remington .223 UMC hollow point question?
Has anyone used this round on deer? If so, would I be better off with Remington's Core-Lok? These two are the only non-target/plinking and non-varmint loads for .223 I've found in my area. Please don't insist that .223 is useless for deer hunting, I have seen and cleaned several deer that were shot with this caliber, and ran about the same as those shot with my 30-06, 30-30, .243, 12 ga., etc.
no if i have learned correctly hollow points just disintegrate (like the Barnes Varmint grenade and Speer TNT)
if i were to be hunting deer with a ,223 i would get some good Nosler Partitions in at least 62 grain but even better would be 68...and if your gun could shoot them some 78 grains would be even better
