If making an insect mask, what would be the best material to make the eyes from?
It's a wasp mask. The base of it is going to be made out of floral foam and water putty, but I need to find some kind of mesh material that retains shape well and that you can see out of for the eyes. Preferably metal, light weight, and fairly inexpensive. If you've got something better though, I'm all for it. Thanks in advance~

You can buy it in metal, as well as nylon form. and in a couple of different colors. It is really cheap like a dollar or two a foot. you can get it at most full service hardware stores. Lowes,, Home Depot, or a mom and pop shop. It is usually on lg. rolls, and they cut you off as much as you need.
You can see through it , mold it, and it can be spray painted (spray lightly don't fill the holes) to what ever color you need.
Another suggestion is Pantyhose..
