Military Assualt Tactical

Military Assualt Tactical
Why is there no Assault/Tactical Pellet rifles?

Airsoft has military/law enforcement style rifles, Paintball does as well, Fake toy guns, Blanks etc etc.. But why do they not make these style rifles in .177 caliber? They have stuff you can "dress up" your rifle with, but thats all it is, just "dressing it up". And the select maybe 5 tactical style rifles available are pieces of junk with bad ratings.
I was reading one company has come out with an AR-15 style called AIR-15 i think? but the msrp is like 1500??
I bet someone could make a FORTUNE developing .177 assualt rifles.. my question is why it hasnt been done? And sell them for a regular priced air rifle?

(please dont answer if your response will be idiotic.. you know who you are)

Well, in fact there ARE tactical style pellet rifles, the one you are thinking of is probably the one made by Swivel Machine Tool which is called the AIRROW Stealth.

However, Air Force airguns has made an AR style air gun for awhile which is much more reasonably priced.

There are also a number of CO2 simulator guns - essentially they are the same ergonomics as an actual firearm but as a CO2 .177 or .22 pellet gun.

Note the examples by Beretta of the their CX4 Storm.

From the same site you can also find the Baikal Drozd machine pistol BB gun which definately has a black tactical look.

There are also plenty of thumbhole stock "sniper style" break barrel air rifles. - These don't lend themselves that well to the "AR" sort of look simply because of the mechanics of how a break barrel works. However, thumbhole, bull barrel, fake suppressor/muzzle weight, camo, laser and nice optics all are plentiful.

So, I think people are doing what you suggest ... and are finding that for one reason or another, people that you would think would buy that sort of thing are buying the new generation of AR style .22LR guns that are getting snapped up like they were free.

Definately not the same with the pistols though, as you can get about any popular pistol you can think of in a .177 CO2 simulator these days for about any amount of money you want to spend based on the quality you are looking for. I don't really know why the difference is so distinct. Maybe because it is simply harder to buy/own pistols than rifles. I really don't know.
