Will any old scope rings work with this mount? Because my grandpa has countless rings that are old and just lying around, I was wondering if I could use any scope ring with this, if it would matter if it were a weaver scope mount or not. Cause most likely my grandpa's are some other brand.. I have a few scopes too, that I may just slap on there.
That base uses Weaver style rings. Ask your Grandpa if he has any spare 1 inch Weaver style rings in medium or low height before you buy that.
Also, is a see through base so you can use the iron sights important to you? Personally, I don't like see through bases because they are much higher than regular bases. I like to have the scope mounted as low as possible; it is was uncomfortable and doesn't fit me right if it's mounted too high.
