To use an ADT Motion Detector at Night?
My husband and I are are looking into alarms. Does anyone have the ADT Motion Detector?? Do you use it at night? Is it a huge pain? Worth it?
Not the ADT, but many other motion detectors. Using them in an occupied location or one where pets or other moving items are present is seldom a good idea. The pets will trip the alarm when you are asleep. That will disturb you, also if you move around in it's range, you will trip it. Use the motion detector when no one is home and nothing is moving. otherwise a perimeter intrusion system is better. Best is to have both but use them at correct times. PIR seem to be better than ultra sonics, but I'm kinda out of date. The best security is to know who you have in your residence and not have anything that is worth the trouble for a thief. If you do have something that valuable, you can afford a safe. Thieves are lazy, make the area difficult to enter.
