Personal experience please, best holsters, preferred holsters (i.e. IWB, shoulder, etc.) Tell me how you carry/conceal, how much of a burgen it is or isn't to carry a 40oz weapon.
None of those retards trying to circumvent the question by saying I should just get a compact, or some other crappy plastic pistol. Their is a reason I am getting an m1911 .45, full size. I have made my decision.
I have only used two types of holsters, the Milt Sparks Executive Companion, and the Galco NSA. Bothe are IWB holsters that put the pistol just behind your hip. For a belt, I have generally used the Wilderness Products Instructor Belt or one of the Galco reinforced dress belts. A good holster and belt combo is critical to carrying a gun. The must hold the pistol securely and correctly. The Uncle Mike's and other brands of nylon holsters simply will not do. A sturdy belt made to hold he weight of a gun is just as important. It has to hold the holster securely to your body.
A well made 1911 is very accurate and a joy to shoot. (I regularly practice on 8" steel plates at 100 yards, typically getting 7-8 hits out of 10 shots offhand). The thin profile lends itself to easy concealement and the single action c0cked and locked carry mode gives you a fast and accurate good shot. But then I am a little biased, I knew Jeff Cooper and spent 5 years working at Gunsite.
