Ancient Indians say this as Kedhu, which has a head of RajaNagam (5 Head Cobra) and body of a man. When Earth comes in between Moon and Sun, Sun's light is completely shadowed by Earth. This time, it is called as Raaghu, where the head is human and the body is of the RajaNagam (5 Head Cobra). They used to say, Raaghu has bit off the moon, when it is partial eclipse.
