What is wrong with my guitar?
The other day, when i was playing my guitar, i suddenly lost the sound. I just bought a brand new ESP LTD EX 401 Olympic White. I checked my guitar cable and it wasn't at its best. I switched my cable, but still no sound. I might have a clue of what is wrong, but i am not sure. Because when hold the tip of the cable at an specific angle, i get a good, normal sound. (I am pushing the cable, outside of the jack-in, a little down, then i get sound) But when i sit normally and i are not applying any pressure to the cable, i don't get any sound. Sometimes i get sound for a brief second or two, but then it just flats again.
I think there might be something wrong with the jack- in. Because the wiring and stuff inside the guitar looks fine.
This is really sad because the guitar was about 1000$
So any help is gratefully accepted!
Does your guitar have active pickups? Some guitars require 1-2 9-volt batteries to power the electronics. Are you angling the cable in to the guitar or the amplifier to get the sound? I have an amp where I have to make a drip loop down and in to the amp in just the right angle to make it work. If you have to angle the cord IN the guitar to make it work, that sounds like a loose solder joint in the output jack. Take it to a tech, cheap fix.
