What type of Rifle would you recommend?
I just turned 18. I enjoy shooting my boyfriends highpoint 9mil but i would like a Rifle of my own for when we go shooting. I would prefer something light as I am a girl (120lbs) average build. Something with a light recoil. I want something I can customize, so an accessory rail is a must. I want something good for practicing accuracy and is fun to shoot. Prefer a semi auto. or something i can put an extended clip in . Like the highpoint i mentioned before.
I really like the AR-15's I would like to put together and upper and lower so it can be custom. Any sugestions for what brands make good uppers and lowers. I would like something short.
If you are target shooting, a .22LR rifle would be great. The ammo is really cheap. Very slight recoil. Cheaper than higher caliber weapons. You can find them in the AR-15 platform such as the Smith and Wesson M&P 15 .22. That is a really nice gun and it has a rail so you can put lasers, scopes, flashlights, foregrips, etc. Or you can get one such as the Marlin Model 60 which has the dovetail mounts for a scope. It doesn't have the tactical rail like the M&P does but still a very nice rifle. It is cheap. My Dad has one and has had it for a very long time. It is wonderful and shoots great!
