Unreal Tournament III keeps locking during scinematic's, what can i do?
I have a pretty good gaming rig that runs pretty much all the big-name games of the last 3 years without any problems, so i'm almost positive it's not a hardware issue here. I can play single player just fine, so long as i'm only doing "Instant Action" so it just goes straight into a level. The problem is, i want to do the campaign, but during the scinematic scenes it will lock up if i don't just click to skip them. I can usually Control-Alt-Delete and close UT3 with the task manager, because it just sits there looping the last half-second of sound, with a frozen image. I have never had it freeze during any part of the game OTHER than scinematic's, but it has frozen three different times at different points in the first one, and also froze in a later one (because i'd clicked through the first one that time). It never gets through a scinematic successfully.
My computer:
Windows XP pro on WD Raptor SATA 3gb/s
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ OC'd 20%
XFX geForce 7800gs 256mb AGP
2gb ram
i'd try updating everything.
windows directx (reinstall that) any SDK's and reinstall UT3
also download it's latest update,
and turn off extra features like AA and other special things, leave the resolution the same but lower everything else
also download codecs, sounds crazy but it fixed a problem i had ages ago klite everything pack
i have the beta ut3 demo, and i'v noticed it's an extreemly demanding game, constantly on full everything (and i have a badarse computer). you may just not be able to run cinematics (which is strange if you can run instant action).
download MOH airbourne (demo, nothing illegal here) and see if that runs because it also uses the U3 engine.
