I have a Smith & Wesson Model 10 Military and Police, square butt, with four inch standard barrel in blue steel. Almost mint condition.
I want to change the four inch barrel to a two inch barrel. I want to change the blue steel to nickel plate or hard chrome. I want change the walnut grips to Pearl grips.
You can only buy handguns in California off a Approved California Department of Justice List. So buying another used gun is not a possibility. Used guns can only be purchased off a commission sale and you can never buy what you want. So it is convert the gun or nothing.
#1 The Serial Number is not on the Barrel.

I hope its not an original S&W Victory model pistol. Make sure it isnt, becaue if it is, Im sure alot of collectors would trade you a decent handgun for it.
Its not impossible to buy handguns in CA. And the SN should be on the barrel. What you are suggesting is what we milsurp collectors refer to as "Bubbaing" or "Bubbafying".
