How do you site in a rifle scope at 25 yards?
My rifle was sited in at 100 yards a few years ago by me. I have always used 100 yards. Now, I only have a 25 yard range to site in my 30-06 rifle and scope.
How do I use a 25 yard target simulating a 100 yard target. Is it correct to site it in a 25 yards on the bull's eye. And then should I raise it 1 or 2 inches above the bulls eye. Meaning, I zero at 25 and then site it in at 100 by aiming at the bull's eye and grouping my shots 1 or 2 inches above.
I know there are some targets that show you deer at 100, 200, and 300 while sighting in at 25 yards, but just because the deer is smaller it doesn't take into account the rise of the bullet as it travelers.
Can anybody concer with the above, or provide me with the procedure for sighting in your rifle for 100 yards while only using 25 yard range.
Thanks for your help.
Dead center. Depending on the weight of the bullet it'l give you between 2.5 to 3.5 inch's high at 100yds. With this it gives you a max point blank range out to 300 to 325 yds. Meaning it'l give you a 4 inch point blank range of up or down, just by aiming center mass to that range. Making it easy even for a novice shooter to make the longer shots. It works, it's proven. So just aim dead center at 25yds and take out the guess work out of the factory rds.
