Do I need a base to scope my Marlin 60?
I have a Marlin model 60 .22lr and am interested in scoping it.
I want to use a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 scope but am unsure if I need scope mounts to place the rings on,
Also, I want to use see-thru Weaver rings.
Will the rings go directly on the rail that is on the rifle or will I have to purchase a base for my specific model?

If your reciever has dovetail mounts on it, no. Just mount the rings to that. If you want to use your aim-under option, you'll need height extenders.
