Rifle Sight Holosight

Rifle Sight Holosight
I picked up a pistol with an eotech holosight, and love it. however...?

I see that they are more often used on rifles. I wanted to pick one up for my guild gun and found that they are quite expencive. Are some of these cheaper similar sights as good. I'm in alaska and need somthing rugged and reliable

Well the "cheaper ones" can be ok, it all depends on the caliber pistol you are using. I would stick above the $100 range just because when you get into the holo's and red dots cheaper than that, generally they will lose zero very easily when changing the reticle, or if the caliber is too big they can't handle the recoil. Eotechs are very well known for their reliability, which is also why the military uses them. Aimpoints are good too but they might be a little big for a pistol. Try going to opticsplanet.net and check out some of their selection if you are looking for cheaper prices. Awesome thing about REAL Eotechs is that they are parallax free, which means wherever you move your head, the dot moves with it and wherever the dot moves, that is where the bullet will go. It is an awesome technology and the cheaper ones won't have that, which means they are not near as accurate unless you have your face perfectly positioned when firing. You sure you want to put an electric optic on a "guild gun"?
