Didn't follow proper use of condom.?
1st of all I am a first timer, and you'll see how irresponsible I am as you read on. Later after sex i started to panic when I realized I wasn't very careful while using the condom at all. (read the trojan condom instructions AFTER it all went down)
Here is the scenario..
I used my 1st condom and came. Took the penis out without holding it and the condom slipped half off my penis.
Removed the condom. Not thinking to wash myself, I wiped penis QUICKLY with a towel. Then she used foreplay on me with luberdirm lotion. Not knowing that the instructions said that any form of oil rots the rubber. To top it off i opened a 2nd condom and touched the wrong end, and then flipped it and put it on correctly. I did not come again. And that was that..
I am afraid of potential pregnancy obviously. I already know all of my mistakes, I just need to know what are the odds and with good logic behind it. How long does sperm live when exposed, specifically after a wipe? Please help me out.
Sperm lives in the uterus (or anwhere with the right pH and temperature) for maybe 2 to 3 days. If it cools off, dries up, or gets the wrong pH it will dies. For example, too sweaty and salty an environment can kill sperm. For a glob just sitting around on a towel
So, do you have a risk?
First, if you didn't wash yourself carefully after touching body parts covered with sperm, then you would have sperm on your hands. A towel does just spread it all around, but also helps it dry up much faster, depending on how dry you get it. Ditto her. I don't know how spermicidal lubriderm is but I suspect it's not a great environment... but she was rubbing her hands all over your sperm-covered member. Did you touch it too, before handling the second condom? Did any hands touch her wet bits after that?
Many condoms have spermicide coatings, but you don't mention that as a feature of yours. Still, a light touch with a relatively dry hand most likely did not transfer any living sperm to the wrong tip.
A drop of sperm just sitting there, on let's say a piece of clothing - would probably die within 10 or most, 15 minutes depending on how hot and humid the room or car is. Add body heat, add sweat, who knows?
(I heard an interview with a guy who had to bring a sample in for a sperm count. He was told to do it into a sample tube at home, then keep the sample under his armpit until he got to the lab. He got pulled over for speeding and didn't want to explain things to the cop... So obviously in the right setting, most sperm is still alive half an hour or more later, plus time to set up the count on a microscope slide at the lab - another 10 minutes?)
The lubriderm was a bad idea - but if the condom did not break or leak then it didn't matter this time - especially if there was not a second load to leak.
OTOH, couples who TRY to get pregnant have trouble doing it within a month or two, full deposit, etc. So even if you did get some sperm in there - odds are against you.
Bottom line - you have a very very very small risk that she would get pregnant. Like all the other "am I preggo?" questions here - the only way to know is to wait until overdue, then take a test.
Next time - wash with soap, very hot water ( more than 110 degrees, so hot you almost can't take it). Or use something acidic, like bring along a wet facecloth in a baggie with some vinegar or lemon juice added - and still be careful.
Long term - she's not likely to stop having sex once she starts unless it was a really bad experience - she should get on the pill for her own peace of mind.
