Nice scope - a largish apo is actually next on my telescope wish list but that is going to have to wait a while now - weddings are insanely expensive.
I've heard good things about Astronomica's triplets. They _are_ supposedly apos even though they are simply advertised as triplets - presumably they consider the apo moniker too damaged by the cheap doublet "apos".
However I would question whether Meade's equivalent may not be a better bet - http://www.rothervalleyoptics.co.uk/meade-series-5000-ed-apo-ota-127mm_d3584.html Although that is £200 more expensive it has the diagonal and finder included (which would probably cost that extra £200) so you can just throw it on a mount. Added to that you have the custom carry case - not worth much if it is an observatory installation but worth its weight in gold if it is a portable instrument.
As for mounts, apos are comparatively heavy on an aperture for aperture basis. I'd expect this to weigh around the 15lb mark. That is theoretically within the limit for an EQ5 (20lb) but I'd be tempted to go up to the HEQ5 for better stability and so there are no issues if you load it up with a hefty camera or whatever.
This is all assuming that you have actually done your homework and a 5" apo is a sensible choice. It'll give you some truly breathtaking views but you are paying a lot for what is essentially a Rolls-Royce option.
