I am saving up on maybe a McMillan TAC 300. The reason I want to buy a $5000 rifle like that is that I want anti-personnel accuracy at 1000 yards and more. (Silhouette shooter)
At that range I need a good scope, of course, but I´m not going to be left with allot of money. So, I wanted to know if this one for example would do, or if long range requires a $1000+ scope. Up to 600-700 yards the $500 scopes have always served me fine, but I don´t know much about this manufacturer.

My son bought a Millet last year. It was a discontinued model that listed for about $300. It worked fine for several rounds on his Rem 700 SPS Varmint in .308. Then it would not hold zero. He sent it back to get it repaired. They sent a new model back in a week or so. This went on during deer season last year so he put one of my old Tasco 4x scopes on the rifle and took two does at 290 and 300 yds. I don't think the new Millet scope is holding zero anymore either.
