8th grade organization?

im going into 8th grade this year and i've had pretty good organization both 6th and 7th grade but it normally takes about half the year to find an organization style i like. What is the best way to stay organized?
We go to our lockers when we first get to school, after 2nd period, after 4th, and sometimes after 6th.
I have advanced science, language arts (english), and math.
Regular Georgia History and Spanish.
I will have art for one semester and keyboarding for the other.

What is the best number of binders for me?
I'm thinking a 1" binder for each subject. (i will get a new set during Christmas break)
with a folder for pages with no holes.
and a tab divider for the following sections:
1) classwork
2) homework
3) tests & quizzes
4) notes
5) study guides
6) other

i also need to know the best brands of messenger bags, pencils, and pens.
and where to get the most in-expensive stuff.
dont forget i need brands of pencils and stuff!

As a professional organizer, former teacher, and mom of 3 boys, I suggest the following:

1 expanding file zip-up folder (should have at least 8 file sections in it

Label as follows:
1st tab TO DO, 2nd tab DONE, 3rd tab Home, and one tab for each subject.
TO DO-all homework assignment worksheets go here
DONE-all completed homework goes here- all subjects
HOME-school information your parents need to see

other handouts, notes, returned tests go in each subject slot
If you need a notebook, use the marble composition type with easy tear out pages. These notebooks fit into the file slots and can be carried along with everything else.
