so i bought a canon xti, it takes ok pics of the sky with the kit lens, (18-55mm) what would help me with taking better pictures??
A. buying a telescope and attatching the camera.. (if so, what size telescope)
B. buying a really exspensive lens, if so which one?

i am wanting something that can do great pics with a great zoom, for shooting the stars and moon.. i already have a remote and tripod for the camera, i am just wanting to get closer to the stars..
i do have a telephoto x2 lens to adapt to any of these...
If you want closer up in the sky then a new zoom lense would help. Also, you probably know this already but to take photos ouside in darker lit areas, you need to put it on a tripod and set the shutter speed to very slow.
I use a Nikon D60 but the concept is still the same. I would suggest http://www.ritzcameras.com to look for lenses.
