Spyder Classic Sonix

Do I have a good paintball marker?

I have a 2009 semi-auto spyder sonix classic series.
here's a link to it: http://www.spyder.tv/section/products/classic_series/sonix.html

As a beginner marker the Sonix isn't bad. I linked reviews for the 2007 Sonix because there were none for the 2009 version (the markers are very similar).

The new clamping feed neck included is nice to have. The stock barrel isn't great. This is a mechanical Spyder so it's not designed for much other than woodsball/rec. play at a field.

If you want a speedball marker or one that could be upgraded for tourny play you have a terrible marker. If it's for woodsball or rec play it should do fine. You may have to have the spring cut down because the spring is too long resulting in a velocity that's too high (they'll tell you at a field if you need it cut if it won't chrono below their limit)
