Will the thickness mean that the hardness will not cause it to snap?
Yes, it is bent all the time in industry. Stainless steel pipe is supplied as 321 or 316L stainless and can be bent. The biggest problem is that stainless steels work harden when bent. This means the power required to bend increases as the bend progresses and there is a risk with extreme bend angles that the material will be come hard enough to snap.
