I was just wondering if there was a SWAT team or Tactical Police or something similar to that in Australia, specifically Brisbane. And if so I was wondering how do i go about getting into it and how hard would it be to get into it ... Any insight is appreciated and thanks in advance

each state has a tactical response unit, as well as the AFP has several units some of which are not disclosed to the public.
Queensland main unit would be Either, Special Emergency Response Team, Australian Federal Police - Specialist Response and Security Team or Australian Federal Police - Operational Response Group
here are some other Australian Policing units.
To get into any of these units you have to serve several years (2 if i remember correctly) of service in the Federal or State Police as these units are not considered to up hold the law someone with military service can apply directly to these units, they will have to go through police officer training then can be put straight into Special operations training. To get into these you units you will also have to have a spotless record and get rerecommended by your superior officer. After this time you may apply for one of these units. These units are exextremely hard to get in and extremly competitive.
@leslie all these units are full time units, each unit is split into 2 teams while one team sleeps there other is on duty and so on.
