Taurus MILL pro 45 acp, what is your advice?
I already made up my mind that I am purchasing it.
Its brand new for only $330.00 at academy(outdoor store)
its 10+1 capacity
so im looking for advice about what loads you use for it and what you think of it in general. Any personal feedback is welcome . thanks
I ONLY WANT ADVICE ABOUT THE GUN IM ASKING ABOUT...PLZ REFRAIN FROM TELLING ME TO BUY SOMETHING ELSE.
I have a Taurus Millenium Pro in .40, and I have to say it has been an excellent gun for the money. I've shot more than 1000 rounds through it, and haven't experienced any failures to feed or extract. I like the Heine Straight-8 sights, the manual safety and loaded chamber indicator, which are all good features. The gun does its job if I do mine, which is one way of saying it is plenty accurate for self-defense needs.
The one downside is the general lack of holsters for the Mil Pro series, although I've found that my pistol will fit in a Fobus HK-1 holster. You can use a generic nylon holster like the ones from Uncle Mike's as well.
I usually shoot 180 gr loads in my .40 because they shoot to point of aim, but the recoil is pretty snappy because of the gun's size and weight. Personally, I would probably choose a 185 gr round for the .45, although you may feel comfortable with a 200 or 230 gr load. The best way is to run different loads through your gun and see what works for you.
