i scratched off my anti fog coating a long time ago. do the thermal lens replacements work any better?
if they do, what color should i get? i play only woodsball. i was thinking either clear or yellow (to brighten things up).
Honestly the "anti-fog" lenses are close to worthless. It's really a marketing ploy. Kids buy the goggles because they believe they'll be able to see clearly and they fog up the first time out.....far less long term.
YES! Thermals are the way to go. Unlike their "anti-fog" counterparts, they let you actually see! The best part is that they are actually two lenses pressed together so you won't be "scratching off" it's coating. However you will want to take care of them. Don't use window cleaner when cleaning them off....get glasses cleaner (Walmart has it for 1.50) and really really soft toilet paper.
Color....I personally have a set of rose colored thermals in my woodsball mask. I've also used the yellow and clear. I really like my rose ones right now. If I were choosing yellow or clear, I'd go yellow. In the woods you just can't beat those kind of lenses. It does brighten things up bit, but it also makes things more distinct, more defined, which is what you're looking for in the woods. Here's the downside. There have been times, I've been told that players spotted me only because they saw my yellow or rose lens in my mask. I think that seeing clearly and eliminating players makes up for those few times though.
