I'm planning on getting a medium sized tattoo on the top of my foot to my ankle. I start field hockey in a few weeks though and once it starts its 4 hours a day 6 days a week until the end of october. Then when that ends I ski race very competitively on 2 deffent teams; every day of the week. So theres no way i can have a sore foot in cleats running or ski boots racing constantly. I'm just wondering how long the tattoo would most likely be sore for. I was really hoping to get it this summer, but do you think its best if i just wait until next spring???
I have one tattoo on the top of my foot and one on my Achilles tendon. The tattoo process didn't hurt on either. I found that the worst discomfort came when I was on my feet for an extended period of time for about a week after I got each tattoo. When you're standing or walking a lot of pressure is on your feet, this was my biggest problem. Like I said though, the pain only lasted about a week and the tattoos healed up in about two weeks. Walking around shopping and stuff was the worst! I think you should be fine. If it turns out that you need touch ups, most artists give you a year to come back and get a touch up free of charge. So you could absolutely wait for field hockey season to be over before you (potentially) have to worry about that. I've never gotten a tattoo wondering about touch ups though.
