I mounted a Leupold Delta Point reflex sight in my Ruger SR-556, leaving the Troy Industries battle sights in place. I, not knowing otherwise, put the Leu right in front of the rear sight. I was thinking I wanted as little eye relief as possible. No I realize that it needs to be moved forward. I'm broke as a joke at the moment-can't afford to be wasting ammo to re-zero. Since this is mounted on a Picatinny rail, I'm wondering if I would even have to re-zero. I'd just be moving it down the line of sight-not doing any lateral or horizontal movement. I'm thinking it would still hold zero. Am I correct?
It would be close but I'd definitely advise shooting a few rounds just to be sure.
Use a sighting in target with the one inch squares so after the first shot, you could dial in exactly where you need to be.
I think thats the best way to do it without firing a bunch of ammo downrange.
