Military police or Human intelligence in army/national guard?
I want to be a federal or state police officer for my profession. I have decided to join the national guard. I am currently trying to decide between army intelligence and military police. I like the military police for the tactical training and the physical training. Mostly for the variety of training they provide however. Human intelligence sounds interesting because they train you in another language and you can see documents that are classified, though I really don't want to be a paper-pusher (I loathe the idea). Ideally I would like a position that is a cross between the two, like Leonardo DiCaprio's role in the CIA in the movie "Body of Lies", though I understand that the movie is just a movie. Is there another job that has a blend of the two? Which should I choose?
I'm in the national guard and my MOS is infantry. I plan on going into federal law enforcement when I finish college next semester. I imagine MP would be good training for that, but in the Infantry you do a lot of kicking in doors and clearing rooms. That's been the infantry's bread and butter in the last 5 to 10 years. Not to mention you learn how to assault from helicopters in Air Assault school, which I could see helping in the DEA, FBI, of ATF. I hope so anyways, because that's what I'm going for next year.
