Vision Sniper Scope

I was wondering if there was a certain vision standard. I cannot see things that are far away(nearsighted???), and have glasses. I was wondering if a Army or Marine sniper has to have perfect 20/20 vision. Or if looking through the scope will make it appear closer to my eye, therefore I can see it better. Please only serious replies, no "Well of course you have to have good vision". Maybe someone who knows the qualifications, I could not find them. Thanks!
NOTE: My vision isn't extremely bad, the only time I usually have to use my glasses, is because the writing on the boards at school is to small. My friends have looked through my glasses and say everything looks the same to them. Just to let you guys know that I'm not blind or anything.
